For everyday mobile production
Let OBS react automatically to signal, time, audio, and status.
1. What does Advanced Scene Switcher do?
The plugin runs prepared actions as soon as defined conditions are met. For example, on an event a macro can switch the scene, wait, show a source, or send an HTTP or WebSocket command.
| Building block | Job | Example from IRL use |
|---|---|---|
| Condition | watches signal, status, timer, audio level, OBS stats, a file, or media state | The signal turns critical |
| Action | does what you've prepared: switch scene, wait, show a source, send an HTTP or WebSocket command | OBS switches to BRB |
| Delay | slows down rapid back-and-forth switching | The live picture only returns after a safety delay |
2. Useful IRL uses
- switch a BRB, offline, or private scene automatically
- evaluate audio levels, OBS stats, files, timers, or media states
- control recording, replay buffer, screenshots, and sources
- link HTTP, WebSocket, or hotkey actions with tools you already use
3. Installation and your first macro
- Compare your OBS version and operating system with the current requirements.
- Download the installer only from the official project page and close OBS.
- Install the plugin, start OBS, and open the section under the Tools menu.
- Create a new macro with exactly one condition and one harmless action.
- Test the macro offline first, export it, and then extend it step by step.
4. How it differs from NOALBS and Streamer.bot
NOALBS is built specifically for the state of a mobile stream and automatic OBS scenes. Advanced Scene Switcher automates general tasks directly in OBS. Streamer.bot adds platform events, channel points, and complex external actions. The tools can work together, but they must not trigger conflicting scene switches at the same time.
| Tool | Focus |
|---|---|
| Advanced Scene Switcher | general tasks directly in OBS |
| NOALBS | state of a mobile stream and automatic OBS scenes |
| Streamer.bot | platform events, channel points, and complex external actions |
5. Testing safely
- keep a manual off switch and a private scene you can reach
- use delays against rapid back-and-forth switching
- back up your macros and test them again after OBS updates
- don't put unchecked commands or secret tokens into exports
6. Common questions about Advanced Scene Switcher
What is a macro in Advanced Scene Switcher?
A macro links conditions to actions. Once the conditions are met, the plugin runs the stored actions. For example, it switches the scene, waits a while, or sends an HTTP or WebSocket command.
Does Advanced Scene Switcher replace NOALBS?
No. NOALBS watches the state of a mobile stream and switches the OBS scenes accordingly. Advanced Scene Switcher automates general tasks in OBS. More on this in the NOALBS guide. Don't let the two switch scenes against each other at the same time.
Where do I download the plugin?
Use only the official project page linked in the box above. Before installing, compare the requirements for your OBS version and operating system. And close OBS for the installation.
Why does my scene keep flipping back and forth?
That happens when conditions change quickly. A delay and a safety time before returning to the live picture stop it. Test the macro offline first and always keep a manual off switch ready.
What doesn't belong in a macro export?
Unchecked commands and secret tokens. Back up your macros regularly. After an OBS update, test them again.
